Responsibilities

  • A structured casino shift manager role is critical to the success of the Eagle River Casino & Travel Plaza
  • Manages and leads daily casino operations of the Eagle River Casino & Travel Plaza
  • When individual department managers are not on site, the casino shift manager is the default manager of all casino departments
  • The casino shift manager will ensure all casino departments are in compliance with AGLC terms and conditions
  • Budgeting
  • Creates and enforces casino policy
  • Responsible for the daily operations of the casino
  • Reports to the general manager
  • Procures new games and equipment (cards, chips, etc.)
  • Provides layout plans for table games floor and analyzes game/table performance
  • Responsible for profit and loss management by following cash control/security procedures, managing labor, reviewing financial reports and taking appropriate actions
  • Completes weekly scheduling and payroll of casino gaming personnel
  • Acts as a role model for employees and fosters teamwork, employee morale, motivation and open communication
  • Hiring when required
  • The workday varies and would require the ability to work shift work, late nights, weekends and holidays

Qualifications

  • 6-7 years experience in the casino industry
  • Minimum 1-2 years demonstrated experience as a casino supervisor
  • Must hold an AGLC license
  • Knowledge of all forms of cheating at play and advantage play in the casino environment (this includes cheating and manipulating slot machines)
  • Bachelor of Business Administration, commerce, casino management or related field preferred
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret documents
  • Ability to communicate effectively in a group setting or presentation setting with employees, upper management, terminal managers and customers
  • Ability to calculate figures, work mathematical concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw from valid conclusions
  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of mathematical equations and diagrams and deal with several abstract and concrete variables
  • Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information
  • Familiar with Microsoft Office applications
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
